Welcome To Revival Roots Nursery!

Hello we are Revival Roots Nursery!  We ship high-quality, organically grown vegetable and herb seedlings to customers across California. We will soon be expanding distribution to the Western region of the United States. Our goal is to expand access to vegetable and herb seedlings so anyone can grow their own homegrown bounty!

We started our previous business, Revival Roots about 6 years ago. We build and maintain organic vegetable gardens, fruit tree orchards, and edible landscapes for homeowners in Los Angeles. We manage 100 gardens across town providing homeowners with the best quality homegrown produce. We have learned that the single most common reason people were not successful with a vegetable garden was access to high-quality seedlings.  Often, seedlings bought at Home Depot or Lowes are not cared for properly and become root-bound and stressed. This leads to a less-than-satisfactory bounty! We wanted to fix this issue with Revival Roots Nursery and provide people with seasonal seedlings shipped at peak maturity.

At Revival Roots Nursery we are here to for you every step of the way from planting to harvest. You can reach us via our live chat feature on the website or our contact e-mail (contact@revivalrootsnursery.com) for questions or concerns about your garden, our plants, and everything in between.

We are excited to use this blog to share our favorite Backyard-To-Table recipes, planting tips, and all things edible gardening. Be sure to check back often for updates so you can grow your own homegrown bounty. We are thrilled to go on the journey with you!  Please don't hesitate to reach out! :)

Meet our team!

Reed Newman
Founder, CEO
Reed started Revival Roots Nursery in order to provide people with the ability to connect with the food they consume. His interest in gardening and horticulture stemmed from his time growing up on a vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley in California's Central Coast. He attended Cornell University and received a degree in Environmental Science from the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Through founding Revival Roots, he has helped establish and maintain vegetable gardens across Southern California. He takes pride in providing access to high quality vegetable and herb seedlings and is excited to bring the true meaning of local to your backyard!
Nick Bielec
Born and raised in Southern California, Nick grew up in his grandfather’s greenhouse. His passion for gardening stems from shadowing his grandfather’s daily routine. Nick’s tireless work ethic and unbending patience comes from his background in working in the healthcare industry. Instilled with a green thumb right at birth, his grandfather’s massive garden has enriched his knowledge in horticulture, cultivation and landscaping over two decades. Nick continues to grow with Revival Roots because he truly believes that having access to organic vegetables are essential to living a better, healthier lifestyle! When Nick isn’t working, he enjoys going on adventures with his wife and two dogs, Bourbon and Benson.
Andrew Zubek
Having found his love for plants through his father at an early age, Andrew had a difficult time being indoors more than he had to. From Northern Ohio and receiving a degree in Botany and Marketing from Miami University of Ohio, Andrew knew he wouldn’t stay in his home state for long. Shortly after graduating college, he moved to the Island of Hawaii to extend his knowledge into practice. After almost a year cultivating and working the land in paradise, Andrew moved to Los Angeles for a larger opportunity to change the way we think about plants. Plants are more than food and pretty flowers, he hopes to open the world's eyes to the importance of respecting our environment and giving back as much as it has given to us. Revival Roots Nursery allows us to truly backtrack to when our vegetables came from our own backyards, not across the country. Something he hopes to inspire across the world!
Nick Nathanson

Nick found his love for vegetables through cooking. With a passion for fresh ingredients, giving people the opportunity to plant their own vegetables was the only obvious path. Nick cooked through college while studying film at Cornell University. After working in TV production and cooking on the side in kitchens in Los Angeles he joined the Revival Roots Nursery Team.
